Our Mission
Our mission at Turning Stones Recovery is to empower individuals with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to embrace a life of sobriety. We provide a structured and compassionate environment where residents can heal, grow, and create lasting connections with others who share a similar journey.
Turning Stones Recovery was born from the vision and passion of its founder, Clarence McBride.
His journey began in 2018 when he found himself in a sober living home in the serene Thousand Oaks, California. It was here that Clarence discovered the profound impact a structured, supportive environment could have on one's path to recovery.
During his own journey, Clarence formed a deep commitment to creating a safe environment for individuals seeking sobriety. This personal experience became the foundation upon which Turning Stones Recovery was built.
As a house manager, Clarence witnessed the transformative power of an environment that nurtured growth, encouraged learning, and facilitated healing. The experience left an indelible mark on him and kindled a desire to create a recovery home of his own.
In 2021, Clarence transformed his dream into reality by opening the first Turning Stones Recovery home in Thousand Oaks, California. The warm reception and remarkable success of this first endeavor inspired him to expand his mission by opening additional recovery homes in the same community where he himself found recovery.
Today, Clarence proudly operates four recovery homes, each dedicated to guiding individuals toward lasting recovery. His journey from a resident in a recovery home in Thousand Oaks to founder of Turning Stones Recovery is a testament to his dedication, empathy, and belief that everyone has the potential for a brighter, addiction-free future.
